Saturday, January 25th

9AM BirdLA at Marsh Street Park (Depart from LA River Café by 8:45 AM)

10AM to 2PM – Bike Rides to Northeast Los Angeles Riverfront Collaborative Open House & Design Competition at the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens
The open house will include presentations and booths that discuss potential projects in the five river adjacent communities of Atwater Village, Cypress Park, Elysian Valley, Glassell Park, and Lincoln Heights. Free workshops to help community members develop a proposal for the Placemaking Design Competition will also be provided.

10:30AM to 2PM – Bike Rentals by Coco’s Variety

8PM to midnight–Honey Haus at NOMAD Gallery Los Angeles

Sunday, January 26th

8AM to 2PM – Bike Rentals by Coco’s Variety

10AM – Free Beginners Tae Kwon Do Class at Marsh Street Park (Depart from LA River Café by 9:45 AM)
This 75 minute class is led by Elysian Valley native and second degree black belt Helen Leung. Class will include a cardio warm up, stretching, and an overview of basic stances, kicks, punches, and blocks. Please wear comfortable clothes; no shoes required. Come prepared to sweat; no experience required.

11:00 AM – Free Ethnobotany River Tour
This one hour tour will examine traditional and possible uses of both the native and introduced plants in the river. Learn why the Giant Cane dominates and how the Western Mugwort is trying to survive. Tour will be lead by naturalist Jeffrey Hutchison. Basic demonstrations of cordage making and other techniques will be given. Leave the idea of no-impact behind and come imagine how you can have a positive impact on the LA River.

11:30 AM – Bike Ride 2 miles each way to the Atwater Village Farmers Market (10% Discount at Cafecito Organico booth)
